All events are free for students with valid UGACards who pay activity fees on the Athens campus unless otherwise stated. Events are sponsored by the University Union Student Programming Board. Spirit of Service events are co-sponsored by the Service Ambassadors within the Center for Leadership and Service.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28

BANNER COMPETITION JUDGING
5 p.m. – Tate Student Center Reception Hall
Banners will be hung in the Tate Atrium afterward.
STREET PAINTING
11:50 p.m.-2 a.m. – Sanford Drive outside Tate
Student organizations cover the pavement with color and school spirit.

 

MONDAY, OCTOBER 29


Spirit of Service Tate Extravaganza

SPIRIT OF SERVICE EVENT: RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE*
11 a.m.-5 p.m. – Tate Reception Hall
Show your school spirit by donating blood.

SPIRIT OF SERVICE EVENT: CANNED FOOD DRIVE*
Through Wednesday, October 31. Bring canned foods to the Homecoming bins located all over campus. Items will be donated to UGA’s Campus Kitchen.

SPIRIT OF SERVICE EVENT: STOP-N-SERVE*
Through Wednesday, October 31. Stop by Tate Plaza and participate in mini service projects.

SPIRIT OF SERVICE EVENT: COINS FOR THE COURT*
Through Wednesday, October 31. Stop by Tate Plaza and donate coins to support the charity of choice for your favorite Homcoming Court members.

VOTING FOR HOMECOMING KING AND QUEEN
Opens at 8 a.m. and runs through noon on Friday, November 2.
Students may vote for Homecoming king and queen on OASIS.

10 a.m.-2 p.m. – Tate Student Center Plaza

$5 for non-students
Enjoy an outdoor horror flick on a huge inflatable screen; bring blankets and lawn chairs. Free popcorn, hotdogs, funnel cakes and cotton candy.

A dance party in black light with free food served by Waffle House! Students will be given free glow swag!
TRICK OR TWEET COMPETITION
11 a.m.-2 p.m.
University Union will Tweet campus locations and trivia questions; the first follower to reach the location and answer the question correctly will win a candy bag and two tickets to see comedian Mike Epps on November 1!

Stand-up comedian, actor, film producer and writer Mike Epps is known for his roles in the films Next Friday, Friday After Next and The Hangover as well as his appearances on Def Comedy Jam.

An annual favorite, the Bulldog Bite Dinner and pep rally features popular tailgating dishes paired with school spirit decor and games found at tailgating parties. Come get pumped for the big homecoming game, and Go Dawgs!

Homecoming Parade Dawgs After Dark: Carnival
HOMECOMING PARADE
6 p.m. – Downtown Athens
Join the fun as UGA athletes, student organizations, fraternities and sororities, the Redcoat Marching Band, UGA President Michael F. Adams and a host of others parade through the streets of downtown in this annual tradition. The grand marshal is Olympic medalist and UGA graduate Reese Hoffa.
DAWGS AFTER DARK: CARNIVAL!

School of Law: Reunion Weekend for School of Law Alumni
7 p.m. – Hirsch Hall

The following law school classes will be celebrating significant anniversaries this year: 1962, 1967, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, and 2007. Graduates from these years are invited to join their classmates for a reunion celebratin at the law school on Friday night. Participants are then invited to join their follow alumni on Saturday for the 22nd Annual Law School BBQ. Pre-registration is required. All ticket sales end on Oct. 19.

ASLA - GA Chapter and the UGA College of Environment and Design invites all Alumni, Students, Faculty, Staff, Donors, and Friends of the College to join us for tailgate festivities. All tailgates begin three hours before the Dawgs kick-off between the hedges and are held in the Founders Memorial Garden Courtyard. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication: Homecoming Tailgate
2 Hours Before the Game – Grady Lawn
$20

Grady alumni and friends will gather on the Grady lawn for the annual Homecoming Tailgate starting two hours before kickoff of the UGA-Ole Miss game. Homecoming festivities will include music from the Trey Boyer Band, barbecue and tours of the college. A cash bar will also be available. Members of the Grady Society Alumni board will serve as official hosts. Guests can stop by for a visit on the way to the stadium, or enjoy a full barbecue lunch for $20 (children 5 and under are free). Reservations ca be made and tickets can be purchased online through Oct. 31. Make plans to join former classmates, faculty, staff, and students, as the Grady tailgate tradition continues.
